  Cyclone Relief Fund

On the evening of Tuesday, May 6, 2008, the Myanmar Chinese Association of New York (MCA) President William Su and MCA executive members, held a press conference at Windsor Garden Restaurant in Chinatown, New York in order to raise money to aid victims of the devastating cyclone in Myanmar. During that press conference, MCA was able to raise over twenty thousand dollars ($20,000).

On behalf of the MCA, Mr. Su would like to thank the generous people who provided donations, the community leaders and elected officials who offered their support, and to all those who called in to offer assistance. Special thanks to the office of Mayor Bloomberg, NYC Council Member John Liu, and Dr. Grace Shu from President Bush’s Republican Party.

MCA is a non profit 501(c)3 organization. 100% of the Funds will be distributed among different organizations, such as Red Cross, UNICEF, UNOCHA, World Health Organization (WHO), that will assist in providing relief to the cyclone victims. MCA will continue to accept donations through the end of July.
